Weekly round up – w/e 18th February

Indoor Track and Field

Scott Lincoln won his 8th consecutive British Indoor title as he won the shot putt event in 20.08m. This is a record number of titles by any British athlete.

Rob Shipley came 4th in the heats of the 800m in a time of 1.52.85 at the same event. However, this was not enough to progress to the final.

Road Running

Katy Wood took 44 seconds off her own club record with a time of 56.09 in the Snake Lane 10 miles road race that was held in Pocklington on Sunday. Josh Breen ran 58.44, Ben Thompson 59.33 and Peter Hanson 71.31 at the race.

18 members of the club did parkrun this weekend and probably encountered some very wet conditions if their parkrun was held on grass or trails. Juliet Horne came 1st at Selby in 20.24. At Heslington Hannah Lovett (20.27) and Imogen Brown (20.51) came 2nd and 3rd whilst there were 3rd places for Lucy Davey (20.09 at Keswick) and Michael Raynes (23.31 at Bury). There were junior age group wins for James Bastow, Bethany Ellerker, Wilson Moisey-Smith and Josh Reid with veteran age group wins for Dave Lancaster, Nick Lovett and Steve Wright. Josh Reid (8.02) and Noah Stipetic (8.22) were the first two runners across the line in the York Junior parkrun.
