Katy Wood took 10 seconds off the club 5k road record as she ran 16.33 to win the latest race in the York University 5k series on Friday night. Simon Bolland-Cage came 4th in the same race in 15.29. Dave Burlton was first vet 40 in 16.47 just beating, the much younger, Willam Hardy who ran 16.48. Hannah Lovett (20.06), Carys Briggs (21.58) and Isla Watson (22.28) were the first three junior girls over the line. Charlotte Mason ran 17.07 to come 3rd, James Bastow 18.22 and Karen Wood 21.10.
Josh Breen took nearly 6 minutes off his PB as he ran 2 hours 49 minutes and 53 seconds in Sunday’s Manchester Marathon
Dave Lancaster ran 42.28 in the undulating Lincoln 10k to place 4th in the vet 60 category.
14 runners from the club did parkrun over the weekend. There were veteran age group wins for Peter Hanson, Dave Lancaster and Chrissie Dover.
