Alex Botterill opened his outdoor season by running 1.46.13 in an 800m race in Johannesburg on Wednesday.

Jessica Robertson-Dover ran a under 20 club record for 5k as she came 2nd in the Leeds University 5k on Wednesday night.

Ben Thompson came 11th in the hilly multi terrain race at Helmsley in a time of 40.08 that took place on Easter Sunday.

James Tucker came 13th overall in the Isle of Man Running Festival that traditionally takes place over the Easter weekend. James came 14th in the Good Friday 10k road race in a time of 32.03. He then followed this up with 27th in Saturday’s Hill Race before finishing with his best position of 7th in Sunday’s 5k road race in a time of 15.27. Then it was off to the after race celebrations……….

Dave Lancaster ran the Guernsey running festival over the weekend. He was 1st vet 65 in the 5k with 20.33 and the 10k in 43.33. However, running the 4.75 miles trail race just an hour after doing the local Parkrun took its toll as he was 2nd vet 65 in that race. There was also a 4 x 1 mile relay.

19 runners from the club did parkrun over the weekend. Dan Cheeseman came 1st at Fountains Abbey in 15.49 with Ed Brown coming 2nd on the Knavesmire in 16.35 and Lucy Davey coming 3rd at Keswick in 19.57. There were veteran age group wins for Steve Wright, Dave Lancaster and Dave Paver with junior age group wins for Emily Rycroft and Bethany Ellerker. Daniel Campbel came 1st in the York Junior Parkrun in 6.34 with Jaxon Marshall coming 3rd in 7.51.
