Christmas / New Year endurance running report – no rest for some!

Josh Schofield ran the fastest time by a City of York athlete in a 10k road race with a time of 31 minutes and 33 seconds in the Ribble Valley 10k which took place on New Year’s Eve. Josh’s time beat Tom Bean’s time of 31.36 in the 2014 Leeds Abbey Dash. Josh came 20th in a high quality race which also incorporated the Northern Athletics 10k road championships.

Tyler Hutchinson was busy over the Christmas and New Year period by taking in three fell races. First up was the Stoop race on December 17th where Tyler placed 7th. Tyler was joined by James Tucker who came 42nd and Patrick Hinman who was 105th. Tyler then came 3rd in the Guisborough Woods race on December 27th with Finnian Hutchinson also having an easy win in the 3k junior race as he won by around 400 metres. Finally Tyler took part in the Auld Lang Syne fell race on New Year’s Eve as he came 6th behind race winner Alistair Brownlee who returned to an event where he started his career as a junior. Tyler was again joined by James Tucker who came 56th and Patrick Hinman who came 124th.
