Josh Dickinson added another national title to his collection by winning the under 15 race in the London Mini Marathon in an event that also incorporates the British Athletics Junior Road Running Championships. Held over the last 3 miles of the London marathon course Josh soon took command of the race to win by nearly 100 metres from the South East’s Charlie Brisley in a time of 14.47. Josh said on the BBC after the race that he was overwhelmed by his win because he had trained so hard for it over the winter.
The club had four other runners taking part in the Mini Marathon as Angus McMillan and Georgia Rothwell came 13th and 22nd respectively in the under 17 races with Martha Carlton-Seal and Finnian Hutchinson coming 33rd and 36th in the under 15 race.
In the marathon itself Stephen Kirk was the first runner home from the club in a superb time of 2.40 with Mark Fitzpatrick also breaking the 3 hours mark with 2.49. Nick Elliott also ran a PB with 3.09 with James Richardson running 4.10.
Karen Williams was the first female runner from the club with 3.37 with Miyako Shimoji being close behind with 3.40. Cath Flatley ran 4.25, Charlotte Hancock 4.35 and Sally Rawlins 4.47.
